Dr René Caissie graduated in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Laval University in Quebec city and is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in his specialty. He completed his training in various hospitals notably the Presbytarian Hospital in Manhattan, New York. He also obtained a master degree in microsurgical nerve repair at the Faculty of Medicine. Dr Caissie now works as an oral surgeon in private practice and in the Montreal General Hospital, and l’Hôtel-Dieu de St-Jérôme. He is the director and chief surgeon of a microneurosurgery clinic at the Montreal General Hospital. He is often invited as a lecturer in numerous oral and maxillofacial surgery conferences. Dr Caissie is affiliated with the McGill University oral and maxillofacial surgery service and he is an evaluator for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
